Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Finance from Park University while serving in Active Duty with the US Air Force for 7 years. He has served on serval boards throughout West Michigan, holding a variety of positions on the boards. Matt lives in Grand Rapids with his wife Kate of
28 years, he has a daughter McKenzie and son-in-law James who live in Huntsville, Alabama, and a daughter Trinity who lives in Royal Oak.
