As a Realtor and Home Inspector for over 17 years, Dave sought to better serve his clients by obtaining designations that allowed him to specialize in niche clientele. Being over 65, he wanted to better understand and assist the 55+ community. Since Dave had cared for his father until he was 90 years old, he found the subject of aging in place to be especially pertinent. The Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation allowed him to learn more about this specialty. As a home inspector, he frequently alerted clients to safety issues, like insufficient handrails, guardrails, and steep stairs. He now specializes in assessing homes for aging in place thanks to SRES training and previous experience in home inspections. He also holds the Home Safety Advisor certification from Age Safe America (ASA), a national organization devoted to assisting older adults live independently and safely at home.
