Founded in 1979, Home Repair Services (HRS) is a nonprofit organization with a legacy of strengthening Kent County families in their efforts to be successful homeowners. Through both Repair and Self-Help Programs, HRS performs critical and urgent repairs and modifications for lower income homeowners while empowering all homeowners by offering free skill workshops, home inspections, remodeling support and coaching. A Grand Rapids native and housing specialist, Joel has served on numerous non-profit boards, and in community relations for Covenant Retirement Communities.
